Since my last post the world has changed a lot. Now I'm a father of three daughters, and the technology that I use is very different, curiously when I stopped writing 13 years ago, one of the biggest changes for our current culture appeared in the market:
1. The iPhone. Now everyone has a touchscreen smartphone, an iPhone or an Android device, and the king of that moment, Nokia, died along the way.
For a while, Microsoft wanted to be part of the cake, but Windows Phone, that I used until the its end, never obtained a good market share.
2. New companies are the top-valued technology companies, Amazon is not only the most important online shop, it's also the most important platform/infrastructure as a service (AWS), Alphabet has services for almost everything: Google, Maps, Waze, Gmail, Hangouts, Apps (drive, translator, spreadsheet, documents, keep), and Android that is the most used mobile OS. Facebook is The Social Network, and earns a lot from its marketing business, and also it is the owner of WhatsApp and Instagram. Microsoft is very different today, they help the open-source community and transform their applications for the cloud and Android.
3. Storage and television. Now the CD and DVD have become Museum objects. We save everything in the cloud, and watch movies on the internet, a whole tv show, a season in one day, where the first was Netflix but now we have a lot of services, including Amazon.
It's a new world, cars don't fly, but I live very differently. I do almost all my PC tasks on my smartphone, now I'm writing in Blogger for Android, I count the words of my post in MS word for Android, I listen to music on my TV sending songs from some music app, I started to ask Google Assistant for different things, and that works perfectly (I tried that in MS Office 2007, and it didn't work so well)
Did these changes modify your life?
Now I'm writing in English for academic purposes.
